Big Brothers Big Sisters is currently reaching out for mentors from Penn to be matched to students at several West Philly elementary schools in the fall!
This flexible program asks minimal commitment from you - just 4 hours a month. The program runs from late September until the end of May - nine months! That’s it! Visit your Little once a week during their lunchtime, for an hour at their school – while you’re there you can eat lunch together, talk, play games – whatever is fun! We work with your class schedule to find a time that works for you. The schools are within walking distance of your campus, or we provide transportation!
Those weekly visits DO make an impact: Littles in our site-based programs show improvement in academic performance, are less likely to skip school and feel they will be more likely to attend and finish college. What an impact!

Stop by Metropolitan Bakery (4013 Walnut Street) on Tuesday, April 3rd and Wednesday, April 4thbetween 6:30-8:30pm for a chance to check out photos from this year’s Alternate Spring Break (ASB) trips and chat with students who participated! Don’t forget to grab a cup of coffee and some snacks while you are there. 30% of all sales on these nights support the mission of ASB and help keep costs low, so that the opportunity to participate is available to all students!

As you may know, every year the Opportunity and Access Team (OATs) at Penn strives to diversify the general student body and Penn atmosphere by pushing for the recruitment of students from underrepresented backgrounds, whether that be based on ethnicity, geography, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or field of interest.
One of the events that the OATS team and the Admission Office sponsors to pursue this goal is Postcard Signing. Every year, we strive to send out personalized postcards from undergraduate students to prospective students to engage their interest in Penn and help them feel welcome.
And here’s where we need your help! To make this event successful, we need motivated students to come out to our Annual Postcard Signing Party! We’ll have FREE FOOD, FREE GIFTS, and a chance to help someone feel welcome that was in your shoes not that long ago.
Our Postcard signing party will take place on Thursday, April 4th from 5:30 - 8:30 PM and we’d be delighted if your club could be represented and participate.
We would also really appreciate it if you could spread the word about our event to as many people as possible!
Please RSVP for the event here! »>

On his way to a successful film producing career in Hollywood, Ricky Staub decided to trade in the glamorous lifestyle for one in which he could make a meaningful impact. Through this journey, he and partner Anders Lindwall created a film company that works with adults in recovery from homelessness, addiction, imprisonment, and mental illness. This for-profit/non-profit partnership works to provide individuals in recovery with skills and support to pursue a more meaningful path in life. Join us on Thursday, March 21st from 6:00-7:00pm in Huntsman Hall F60 to hear more about the founder’s inspiration for this innovative program and learn about how a for-profit business and non-profit organization can work together toward positive social change. Please RSVP for this event here.
